It is here, the one and only, last IED semester; I thought it would never come. I have to admit that the first 2 years at IED were pretty good, I learned a lot – not only softwares (which are going to play a big role in my professional career) but also about people. I felt like quiting at the beginning of this year for a number of reasons, but it turns out it was a great thing I didn’t, afterall I wouldn’t have met my wonderful Nathan!
It’s time to do my TCC, the last big project to finish the course. People are already panicking, but it’s understandable considering the amount of time we have to just simply come in barehands and go out with a finished product… How does one do it? I believe you have three options:
1) You’re an extremely well organized person, have a great idea that can be viably executed within the time and budget limit.
2) You already have a project or an idea in process and use it (my case).
3) You leave everything to the last minute and hope that you’ll get lucky, but come out with an OK TCC.
Now that I’ve highlighted what option I’m doing, I believe I have a good chance of being successful with my end of year project. I’ll be doing an animation in a teaser format, of a book called The Birfian World that I wrote a long time ago. I even tried to make a book cover for it which unfortunately I didn’t manage to finish, have a look:
Now that I have finished the script, I am now going to storyboard to make the animatic. I was researching a couple of sounds that I could use in the animatic in a great site I came across when I was doing another project at IED. It’s called thefreesoundproject make sure to have a look if you’d like a reference for a future animation you would like to make. Wish me luck!
